Engineered Oak Wood Floor Installation in Epsom, Surrey

Last week I worked in Epsom, Surrey, installing an engineered oak floor in three bedrooms and on the upstairs landing. When fitting a wooden floor, I glue it down to the sub-floor rather than using an underlay as this makes the floor a lot more solid underfoot. With an underlay, there is nothing actually holding the boards in place, apart from the glue between the joins (known as a ‘floating floor’), and they are therefore a lot more prone to movement underfoot and squeaking. I had to finish the floor into the top of the carpeted staircase, and also along the balusters, so I used a solid wooden L-bead which finished off the edge of the wood floor nicely, as you can see from the pictures!
