Pitch Pine Parquet Restoration in Coulsdon, Surrey
Last week saw the restoration of a very old, worn looking, pitch pine parquet floor in Coulsdon, Surrey. After sticking down a lot of loose blocks, the sanding was then carried out initially with our top-of-the-range, Lagler Hummel sanding machine which is dust-free. This is then followed by a sand with our Lagler Trio orbital sanding machine, which gives the floor a lovely smooth finish, also dust-free. We then sand around the edges with our Lagler Flip edging sander, as the larger machines can’t get in tight to the walls. Once the sanding has been completed, we then apply a Bona Primer, in this case we used Bona Natural primer, this was then followed by two coats of Bona Traffic Go varnish, which is a very heavy duty varnish that contains a special hardening agent so that it withstands wear and tear from foot traffic, for a very long time.
